Form V750,certificate of entitlement for personalised DVLA Number Plates
Form V750 is the certificate sent to the Purchaser of a previously unissued personalised DVLA number plates.
There could also be a Nominee named on the V750 although he/she has just the right to have the registration assigned to his/ her car or motorcyle.
The transfer fee of 80 pounds will have been paid at the time of purchase so, if the registration number is to go on a car or motorcyle registered in the Purchaser's or Nominee's name ther is not further fee to pay at the time of assignment.
The Nominee can be changed at any time for a fee of 25 pounds. Only the Purchaser can apply to change Nominee or renew the V750.
It is now possible to change Nominee at the same time as assigning the number to a vehicle.
It is also possible to renew a V750 for up to three years after the initial 12 months of entitlement, this was previously one year. Current renewal fee is 25 pounds per annum.
There is also a V750 N.I. which is issued by the DVA in Coleraine, Northern Ireland. Similar to the DVLA V750 it is used for previously unissued registrations which are sold as private number plates by the agency.
The big thing to note is that a V750 N.I. can only be used to assign a personalised registration to a car registered to the DVA in N.Ireland, whilst a V750 issued by DVLA can only be used to assign a registration number to a vehicle registered with DVLA Swansea.
