Number Plates Recipient.
The term " recipient" refers to the vehicle which is receiving the registration number removed from a donor vehicle or receiving a registration number which is held on a certificate of entitlement ( V750 ) or retention certificate ( V778).
Recipient vehicles require tax and test to be able to take part in the number plates transfer, although an application for road tax can be submitted at the same time as assignment of the registration number.
When an application is made to transfer a registration number onto a recipient vehicle, there may be a request to inspect that recipient vehicle to verify the chassis number etc is correct. This is much less common than inspections of donor vehicles.
